An electric solenoid valve is a type of valve that uses an electric current to control its operation. It’s typically made up of a coil of wire (the solenoid) that, when energized, creates a magnetic field that drive a iron core to either opens or closes the valve. This type of valve is commonly used in fluid and gas control systems, where automatic or remote control of flow is needed.
Here’s how it works in simple terms:
Modern 2 way electric solenoid valve offer fast operation, high reliability, long service life, and space-saving design.
To Open the Valve:
Energizing the coil creates a magnetic field that actuates the iron core (④), lifting it within the sleeve tube (⑩) to open the pilot orifice (⑦).
This action releases the liquid above the diaphragm through the pilot drain port (⑦), while liquid enters through the diaphragm bleed hole (⑧).
As liquid is released, the pressure above the diaphragm decreases, reducing the force on the diaphragm/piston, which then lifts to open.
Full system pressure on the opposite side of the diaphragm lifts it away from the main valve orifice (⑨), allowing media to flow freely.
To Close the Valve:
When the power is turned off, the magnetic field collapses, causing the iron core to move downward and close the pilot drain port.
Fluid enters the chamber above the diaphragm, raising the pressure until it matches the inlet pressure.
The increasing pressure forces the diaphragm downward, aided by the spring (⑬), closing the valve.
To open the valve:
1: When the valve is energized, the coil generates a magnetic force that lifts the plunger (⑨). The plunger moves upward to open the pilot orifice (⑦), while simultaneously lifting the diaphragm bracket (⑥) to open the main valve orifice.
2: The liquid above the diaphragm exits through the diaphragm orifice (⑦), while liquid enters through the smaller orifice (⑬), known as the diaphragm bleed hole.
3: Full system pressure on the opposite side of the diaphragm/piston helps lift the diaphragm/piston away from the main orifice, allowing the full media flow through the valve.
Close the valve:
1. When the power is shut off, the iron core will move downward, closing the Diaphragm Orifice.
2. Fluid will enter the chamber above the diaphragm, causing the pressure to increase until it matches the inlet liquid pressure.
3. The diaphragm is then pushed downward by the force of the spring (3) and downward pressure, closing the valve.
Electrically Actuated: Uses an electromagnetic coil to open or close the valve.
Compact Design: Suitable for tight spaces and small systems.
Fast Response Time: Opens and closes quickly for precise flow control.
Low Power Consumption: Ideal for battery-operated or low-energy applications.
Various Configurations: Available in normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) types.
