Normally , there are two types TPU are used in the PU hose producing. One it the Ester based TPU, another is the Ether based TPU.
Ester based PU hose is less expensive and generally stonger with higher tensile strength.However,applications should be limited to area of consistent low temperature and where high and continued flexibility is essential.
Ether based PU hose will not break down or be affected in any way of moisture,more flexible at low temperature.It has the characteristics of elastomer with good elongation and recovery along with many of the desirable properties.Very suitalbe for durable using in machines.
Regarding to the hardness of PU hose, there are 95A, 98A, 90A and 64D with good bend resistance. It has higher flexibility than nylon and higher flexibility in low temperature.
Abrasion resistance – Polyurethane hoses are less prone to abrasions, due to the molecular structure.
Pressure resistance – Hoses made from PU are able to withstand higher amounts of pressure, unlike less durable hoses that can weaken.
Temperature resistance – PU hoses are able to withstand more extreme temperatures. They are able to hold their flexibility in low temperatures and are able to withstand higher temperatures without the risk of abrasions.
Chemical resistance – PU has a high chemical resistance to many chemicals and solvents (with the exception of acidic media), making it ideal for industrial and pneumatic applications.
