The guided cylinder is composed of a guide rod or slider parallel to the piston rod and the cylinder as a whole, or a cylinder is composed of two parallel pistons and piston rods.
In the double-piston rod cylinder, the heads of the two piston rods are mounted by a flange, which prevents the rotation of the piston and obtain double output force at the same time.
This cylinder has a compact structure, high guiding accuracy, and can withstand large lateral loads and moment of force. It can be used to withdraw, lift and position the work piece on the conveyor line.
For the guide rod, normally there are two types rail bearings, one is the sliding bearing and ball shaft. The sliding bearing type has good abrasion resistance and can withstand lateral load more than 2 times larger than that of the stopper cylinder. It is suitable for use as a stopper. The ball bearing type can make high-precision smooth movement, has a long life, and is suitable for moving and lifting work pieces on the conveyor belt.
Sliding Bearing :
The sliding bearing made with high precision lathes starting from bronze bars allow obtaining reduced friction coefficients while keeping the front section to a minimum. This makes it possible to use guide rods of considerable size also for the smaller bore cylinders and in general, allows to support high loads both of the static type and in the form of shocks.
For example, therefore they will be more suitable for stopper-type applications.
Ball Bearing:
Unlike the sliding bushes, place steel balls between the surfaces in relative motion. This means that the friction between the parts is of the rolling type and not of the sliding type.
The advantage of this type of solution is inherent in this difference since the rolling friction is considerably less than the sliding friction.
Consequently, the cylinders with ball bushings are particularly suitable when a more fluid movement of the cylinder is necessary or in any case appreciable.
For example, they will be preferable for cylinders that perform lifting or translation.
Multi-mount cylinders can be attached to one another in a modular fashion to give greater carrying capacity.
Dual-rod cylinders are used to prevent rod bending, piston bending or seal deterioration because their two-rod construction provides more durability and weight is distributed evenly across the cylinders.
Slide cylinders have non-rotating platforms which make them rigid so that they cannot move. This means that they offer solid support when very heavy objects are slid onto the carriages.
Double-acting cylinders or single acting cylinders dependant on the output force required.
A compact cylinder is a great consideration where space is limited.
Linear movement without vibrations and noise reduction
AIRTAC type TN series dual rod cylinder with the compact design, and two piston rod design double the output force. It has two sides installation choice and with four magnet switch slot. Embedded installation and fixation mode save the space. Dual rod design offer the good resistance to bending and twist moments.
SMC type CXS dual rod cylinder is suitable for pick and place application. Ball bearings and the slide bearings are standard for all series. Twice the thrust non-rotating accuracy ±0.1°.It can be mounted on three faces. And with the adjustable stroke device. The new designed cylinder could be with air coushion.
SMC type CXS dual rod cylinder (Double rod) Dual-Rod Cylinder Double Rod Type CXSW Series that can be mounted from 3 directions. Dual-rod cylinder with guide function that is suitable for pick and place applications, etc. Auto switch can be installed from 3 directions. Unique air cushion mechanism with no cushion ring.
SMC type MGP guide rod cylinder is designed for high side load applications found in material handling, lifting and stopping. The cylinder utilizes an ultra-compact design by incorporating the cylinder body as part of the guide body. As the stroke length increases, so does the bearing length, thus enhancing the cylinder’s load bearing capacity. Order made options for this series include adjustable air cushions, heavy duty guide rods, copper free, high temperature, and low speed.
SMC type MGG guide cylinder integrates a round body cylinder for its power source with external guide rods to isolate the load bearing from the movement of the actuator’s rod and seals for a compact and light weight unit. The stroke adjustment (up to 50 mm) can be either on the extend or retract cycle. It is enhanced with shock absorbers at the end of stroke for maximum kinetic energy absorption. Non-rotating accuracy ranging from +/-0.02° for 100 mm bore to +/-0.07° for 20 mm bore.
