How does a water solenoid valve work? Solenoid valves are electric mechanically operated valves that convert electric energy into mechanical energy. The water solenoid valve works is by controlling the flow of water in a positive, fully-closed or fully-open mode. They are often used to replace manual valves or for remote control. It consists of a coil, plunger and sleeve assembly.

For example in normally closed valves, a plunger opens or closes the orifice by raising or lowering within a sleeve tube by energizing the coil. Once the solenoid coil is energized, the resultant magnetic field raises the plunger, enabling flow. When the solenoid coil is energized in a normally open valve, the plunger seals off the orifice, which in turn prevents flow.

Pilot operated valves the most widely used valve. Utilize system line pressure to drive the pilot to open and close the main orifice in the valve body therefore to connect or shut off the pipeline. While Direct operated solenoid valves directly open or close the main valve orifice, which is the only flow path in the valve through the coil controlled plunger.

They are used in systems requiring low flow capacities or applications with low pressure differential across the valve orifice, especially the medium is the hot water or steam. So most of the direct water solenoid valve are high temperature resistant.

What’s the electric compressor drain valve?

It’s combination of a 2/2 way electric solenoid valve and a ball valve embedded valve module. Beside the ball valve, there is also additional waste water filter assembled in the module. The condensate could be release through a special port for it. A timer could be assembled on the valve to set the drain time and the interval time. For example, the drain time is set 5 seconds, and the interval time is 10 minutes, that mean the valve will be open 5 second automatically to release the water and then keep shut state for 10 minutes. Normally, the solenoid valve is direct acting model, with the rapid response and high reliability.

Why we use the electric drain valve?

Electric drain valves provide long-lasting air system protection by removing moisture and other contaminants from compressed air tank. The valve replaces the manual drain petcock on air tank within a vehicle’s compressed air system provide reliable protection of air system components and help eliminate issues such as frozen air brakes. Due to the considerable advantage, the timer drains are pervasive in compressed air systems with different voltage and smaller size, but require regular maintenance.

PT Electric Drain Valve

It’s a cost-effective, user-friendly, automatic electronic drain valve with a compact footprint. There two designed PT electric drain valve :

PT-A: The valve body combined the Y-filter with mesh screen and ball valve to help prevent clogging. SIMPLE DESIGN Condensate follows a serpentine path through a small orifice that is actuated by an electric timer. The length of time the drain is open and the frequency at which it opens can be adjusted manually by easy to operate dials. Depending on humidity and duty cycle, requirements for condensate discharge can be set and changed over time.
